Experience
I received my undergraduate degree in Spanish and my graduate degree in teaching English as a second language from the University of Wisconsin. I have traveled a great deal throughout my academic and professional career which has helped improve my linguistic skills and allowed me to accumulate a wider range of teaching techniques to help a greater number of students. I now teach ESL and Spanish for students in grades K through 8. I offer tutoring services for similar subjects, including Spanish, ESL/ELL, English grammar and syntax, Spanish 1-4, languages, conversational Spanish, and English for high school and college level students. In addition to working with students on specific subject material, I also enjoy working with them to develop their study skills and their organizational skills so they are better prepared to succeed in any future classes. Summer tutoring has also been especially rewarding as has helping students prepare for specific exams. I am passionate about language and the power it has to transform lives. I love helping my students more fully express themselves regardless of the language they are using to do so. I take the time to get to know each of my students and their individual learning style so that I am better able to create an engaging and effective learning experience for them.
